Picture this: October 2004, Paris, and The Cure finally showed up to a party they'd been invited to for twelve years. This splendid double album captures their gloriously intimate 90-minute performance for Radio France's legendary Black Sessions programme, recorded live at Maison de la Radio et de la Musique with an actual audience watching. Bernard Lenoir, often called the French John Peel (and rather a big deal if you care about such things), had been chasing the band since the Black Sessions began in 1992. Scheduling, you understand. Very complicated. But they made it happen at last, and what a glorious evening it turned out to be.

A Night Like This, Lovesong, Primary, A Strange Day, The End of the World and plenty more make the cut.
