LiveCoco is a UK sustainability brand based in Newcastle upon Tyne with a properly substantive backstory: it started life as a coconut-products company (the "Coco" in the name being the literal coconut), and the founders gradually became uncomfortable with the volume of single-use plastic the original product range required. Rather than greenwash the existing operation, they pivoted the entire brand — re-engineering everything around 100% recyclable or compostable products and packaging, and turning their attention to one of the more genuinely tractable sustainability problems in the consumer-goods category: electric toothbrush heads. Most consumers don't realise that local council recycling systems can't process electric brush heads (they're too small, made of multiple incompatible materials, and bound together with steel staples) — so they go straight to landfill, at a rate of millions per year. LiveCoco built a Closed-Loop Recycling System to actually solve this, where customers post used heads back to the Newcastle workshop for proper recycling.

The hero product is the LiveCoco recyclable brush head, compatible with most Oral-B, Braun, Superdrug, Asda, Aldi, and Tesco circular electric toothbrushes (excluding the iO range), available in standard and softer-bristle versions and with coloured identifier bands for households where multiple people share a base unit. The wider range covers Sonicare-compatible bamboo brush heads (made with castor-bean plant-based bristles, fully compostable), bamboo toothbrushes, plastic-free toothpaste tablets in fresh peppermint, bamboo reusable interdental brushes, and a pure-copper antimicrobial tongue scraper. Bristles are designed to last three months or longer, all packaging is biodegradable kraft paper, products are vegan and cruelty-free, and the brand offers a thirty-day try-before-you-decide guarantee. A useful answer to the small but persistent guilt of throwing a perfectly engineered piece of dental plastic in the bin every three months.
