Exhale Healthy Coffee
The Coffee That Loves You Back
Al spent seven years fighting a serious health decline — in and out of hospital, broken physically and mentally despite a lifelong commitment to sport. The research that helped him recover also led him to coffee, and to the realisation that not all coffees are created equal. In February 2020, he and his wife Kirsty quit their corporate jobs to launch Exhale Coffee. Three weeks later, the first lockdown began. They ran the operation from their London terraced house, with neighbours, family members and Kirsty's Dutch bike all drafted into service. The brand now roasts in Brixton, has over 130,000 customers, is a certified B Corp, Soil Association Organic and fully plastic-free.
Scientifically verified, ridiculously good
Exhale's single-origin Peruvian beans are grown on high-altitude volcanic soil, then fresh-roasted in small weekly batches in Brixton using a process refined over 9 independent lab tests to lock in polyphenols, antioxidants and vitamin B3 while keeping out mycotoxins and pesticides. One brewed cup has the equivalent antioxidant power of 12 punnets of blueberries or 55 oranges. The range includes House Roast, Dark(ish) Roast and Decaf, available as beans or ground, dispatched in compostable letterbox-friendly packaging. Named in The Times' Top 10 Health Trends 2021 and featured in the Evening Standard, Metro and the Independent. Find Exhale in our food hall and explore more sustainable brands at Sostter.
