This one, admittedly the result of what can only be described as organised chaos in a Cornish workshop, sits somewhere between showstopper and secretly brilliant. Lavender opal meets transparent amber in a checkerboard pattern that manages to look both effortlessly sophisticated and rather good fun.

Beautifully Crafted Artistry: Each coaster is handmade using alternating opaque lavender and transparent amber glass squares, painstakingly arranged into a checkerboard pattern atop a clear glass base, then fused at the rather impressive temperature of 800 degrees Celsius. No two are identical, which is either marvellous or terrifying depending on your feelings about individuality.
Transforms Any Space: Those 20mm glass squares create a glorious visual rhythm that adds genuine warmth and colour to shelves, desks, or side tables. It's the sort of thing that makes visitors do a double-take and ask where you found it.
