In 2014, on Brooklyn Bridge in New York, it started to rain. A group of kids who had been throwing paper planes unfolded them and used them for shelter. That moment — spontaneous, joyful, completely unplanned — became the spark for HAPPYSWEEDS, a Swedish umbrella brand built on a single conviction: that an umbrella should be a genuinely good object to own, not just a thing you grab on your way out the door.
Founded in Sweden by Rodney and his family, HAPPYSWEEDS designs each umbrella around a specific moment of travel — a lemon grove in Italy, a forest in autumn, cherry blossom, a mountain lake at sky blue calm. Over 23 designs, released in two collections per year, each one carrying more story than it first appears. Underneath the canopy, that story reveals itself. Every umbrella is built with a windproof system, a specially coated water-repellent canopy, and UPF50+ sun protection — so they work as hard as they look good, in rain and sun alike.
