Smoby was founded in 1924 in Lavans-les-Saint-Claude, in the Jura region of France — the historic heartland of French toy manufacturing. What began as a small workshop has grown into France's best-known toy brand, producing everything from play kitchens and playhouses to tricycles, slides, outdoor games, and table football across a factory in Arinthod that remains one of Europe's most modern. A century of experience in understanding how children play, what they need from their toys, and how to make things that last runs through every product Smoby makes.

The range is genuinely broad: role-play toys including realistic play kitchens and branded workbenches, outdoor equipment from slides to playhouses, ride-on cars and tricycles, baby and toddler toys, arts and crafts, and the Smoby Life collection — products made from at least 70–90% recycled plastic, combining sustainability with the same durability and safety standards the brand has always upheld. All Smoby products are manufactured to European safety standards and undergo rigorous internal and external testing before leaving the factory. These are toys designed to develop motor skills, imagination, and independence — and to survive the enthusiasm of the children using them.
