Loungers Clothing
British Loungewear, Made Ethically, Named After Endangered Animals.
Loungers is a women-led, family-run British loungewear brand built on the rather sensible proposition that the cosiest item in one's wardrobe needn't also be the worst-made. Theirs are GOTS-certified organic brushed cotton, with the small thoughtful flourishes one rather appreciates: a reversible waistband, a properly long leg option for those blessed with the tall gene, and the rather wonderful detail that every single colourway is named after an endangered species — Sea Otters, Green Sea Turtles, Hector's Dolphins, Sunda Tigers, Belugas, Vaquitas, Saolas, Giant Pandas — to keep the cause quietly in front of mind. Sustainability runs all the way through: corozo buttons (a natural plastic alternative), recyclable packaging from sustainable forests, biodegradable clothing tags impregnated with actual seeds, and a properly committed effort to recycle every offcut.
The collection covers lounge trousers, shorts, and sweatshirts, all designed for the substantively important business of after-work decompression — fireside evenings, cold mornings, post-swim dressing, the pyjama-as-loungewear pivot the discerning person performs at roughly 6pm. Reviewers tend to come back for second and third pairs (one rather suspects the Loungers buyer is a properly devoted convert), and the brand has built a quietly cult following at boarding schools, universities, and the Burghley Horse Trials stall — which is, one must admit, a rather perfect cross-section of the British market.
