In 2016, Emma — a new mum living in a new city, finding her feet on Instagram, and deeply unimpressed by the IKEA ANTILOP highchair's cotton insert — bought a £5 sewing machine at a car boot sale and made her daughter Robyn a wipeable highchair cover. She posted a photo online. People started asking where to buy one. She listed it on Etsy. Bobbin and Bumble was born — and the wipeable IKEA highchair accessory became a thing, because Emma made it one.

Eight years later, Bobbin and Bumble is the UK's go-to name for IKEA highchair accessories, with a full range including cushion covers, silicone placemats, bamboo footrests, vinyl leg wraps and splash mats — all made from non-toxic, phthalate-free PVC and nursery-grade foam, machine washable where applicable, and designed with the same founding conviction: practical things for little ones, beautifully done. The range has grown to include changing mats, basket liners, nappy pouches, hospital bag organisers and baby blankets. All made in the UK. All tested on real babies.
