Sumilayi
Finnish Haircare Made for Curls. Handmade. Plant-Based. Actually Effective.
Sumilayi is a family-owned Finnish haircare brand based in Espoo, built around a single conviction: curly hair needs extra nourishing love, and most products on the market simply do not provide it. The name itself is a shortening of Suki Milayi — meaning long hair in Lingala — and the brand was created specifically for people with curly, coily, wavy, and damaged hair who had tried everything and were close to giving up. Founder and team developed every formula by researching the purest, highest quality plant-based ingredients available, looking for the perfect nutritional blend that would bring curls into blossom rather than flatten or frizz them.
Every product is handmade in small batches in Finland, vegan, cruelty-free, and free from silicones and drying alcohols. Raw materials are 90–100% natural origin, with full ingredient transparency — the brand publishes a complete list of everything used. The range covers shampoos, conditioners, leave-ins, curl creams, and oils, all approved for the Curly Girl Method and designed to work together across wash day. Reviews describe hair restored after damage, curls defined after years of frustration, and customers who stopped using anything else. That is what good haircare looks like.
