Look, we'll be honest. This isn't some mass-produced blanket knocked out in an afternoon. This is Bogolan, or Bogolanfini if you're feeling properly fancy, which means mud cloth in English. It's been made the same way for generations in Mali, which is either deeply meaningful or terribly inefficient depending on your view. We rather think it's the former.
Why Choose Our Handwoven Mud Cloth Throw
Authentically Made by Hand: Real artisans, real looms, real mud dye. The cloth is hand spun and hand woven on traditional strip looms using local cotton. Men weave the strips, then they're sewn together by actual humans using actual needles. Revolutionary stuff, really.
Women Artists Design Each Pattern: Traditionally, the women take over at decoration time, drawing designs with a bamboo or metal spatula using pre mixed mud dye. The patterns tell stories about social status, gender, or simply what the artist fancied that morning. Each one is entirely unique, which means your throw is rather a showstopper.
Natural Materials, Naturally Beautiful: We're talking locally sourced cotton, leaves from trees nearby, and genuine mud. Nothing synthetic, nothing shipped halfway round the world needlessly. It's refreshingly old fashioned.

Process: Cloth is woven, washed in the sun, soaked in pounded leaves, dyed with mud, then washed again. Each design is outlined twice for proper depth and character.
