Before I release any painting for wider printing, I create a single, solitary test print in my studio. I inspect it thoroughly for colour accuracy, hold it up to the original, squint at it from various angles, and generally fuss over whether it is absolutely spot on. This is that print. The Artist Proof. My final seal of approval, and owing to the peculiar traditions of the art world, only one of these will ever exist. Once you own it, that is rather that.
